Ive put a 1636 in to my car a while ago, but just left the timing as is. Car runs fine... ok... and it pulls 132 from cam and zorst (no headders) but blows alot of fuel out the a*** end.
I was thinking about changing the timing to see if that helps my fuel consumption and power output. I asked my mate who works for ford about it and he didnt know if it would knock its head off and s**t itself or not. Since there is no knock sensor in an ED 6. How do i go about changing the timing, and which way would be better to stop the fuel blowing out the back? (assuming its the tune thats causing it) cheers.

Not quite following you. Are you talking about cam timing (which you change to dial in the cam) or ignition timing. You seem to be talking about both.

hmm, i didnt know there was a difference.
lets just say cam timing. How do you dial in the cam then? Without using vernier cam gear. Altho if you want to elabourate, whats the go with changing ignition timing too?

to do cam timing you need a vernier gear. Basically this lets you make the cam events happen earlier or later depending which way you rotate it. Usually you just use it to put the cam exactly where the cam grinder wants it.
For ignition timing, rotate the distributor (some info in the 'answer to all your I6' sticky)
