There stufff works good.I have seen more dyno dynamics dynos not working right and giving the right numbers than I have seen jim mock stuff not go well. The dyno figures are nothing. Why did I run a 14.7 and back to back 14.8s with a full tank of fuel ,single spinner with only 131rwkws?

I run a dev4 cam and race series extractors in standard head.

Not to mention you were running slicks, 3500rpm stall and an edit (none of which are JMM products). Didnt it take you 20 odd passes to get into the 14's after running high 15 and a few 16's. Lets also not also forget how long you spent working on that car getting it right (seemed like more than a year from when you first got the cam). How many times did you shim or clock up that cam in total?

I also remember your thread where you said the cam didnt work, it took a fair few more mods before you started saying you were happy with the product.

I am not trying to bag the JMM product, just not looking at them through rose coloured glasses.

I ran 15's in 40 degree heat in the middle of summer with a first edit tune which ran lean(out of fuel ) at 130 kmph. My stall converter I thought was 3500 have recently discovered my tacho is out by 300-500rpm.The stallie is around 2800-3000rpm.The tyres I used were mickey tompson et street radials. I had also discovered that some nit wit had over tightened my handbarke and so it was pulling the 15 's essentially with the handbrake causing a slight friction. The other restriction was in my exhaust.I was running 2 mufflers and 1 resonator. Off came 1 of the mufflers. I know that some people like to put the boot into jmm but make sure your car is up to scratch before expecting a 14 second 1/4 mile.

That first 40 degree day my car did get a 15.1. About 3 days later my good mate fordfreakef couldnt break into the 14's from the heatwave either. For realistic comparison he normally does 14.5 with his eyes closed.

Once these above issues were resolved I went in winter and wheelspun 90 %of the track with my wagon.
Second run with the mt et streets it pulled a 14.7. My third run saw the mt et streets give me no traction at all so I went home.

A month later me and fordfreak rocked up to wsid.I pulled back to back 14.8's 90% of the time.On my way home I had realised that my fuel tank was full of petrol. Sure it needed a tune and a hi stall to get it going hard but for 500 dollars installed it was good value. The standard auto has crap first gear ratios for takeoff and this solved the problem.

A cam alone cannot make your car go like a rocket in an auto car.It wont happen.JonBays now has a dev 5 cam ,locally done headwork and the same stallie that I have.We will be doing battle in June /July head to head. The only differences are his de5 vs my dev 4...and his 3.45 diiff vs my 3.73 diff. Have patience wait a little and watch to learn..

I had the dev5 cam alone in my AU (no headwork). It went pretty well but I recommend an edit or chip to sharpen things up a bit.

From memory I got about 146rwkw from the cam alone ( and full exhaust system).

Good choice going the full package, now i will have an idea of what im getting :P

although your going to need to get a better exhaust, eg. Headers, 2.5" Cat
i would advise higher diff gears (3.9's) to take advantage of the improved mid and high range power the cam and head has to offer and for a real punch off the mark a 2500 stally, That combination will be leaving Turbo skylines for dead off the line, Well thats what i want hehehe

my own personal experience with jmm was a good one. the el gli manual(owned by my now ex missus) went in stock came out at 190rwkw which i checked when i got home to newcastle on another dyno it only droped 2kw which i put down to the operator. i had a lot of fun in the car frequently toasting xr6t's and all manner of ss p***y cars. one in particular was a mates vy ss fitted with 6litre crank and $4000 heads he thought i had no chance because it was making 250 rwkw. so we marked out the 1/4 and i came out 1/2 a car in front. my opinion is yes they are worth the money if you want zero trouble from the cops and a nice sleeper, but there is cheaper power out there.

Yeah, their cam specs are something they keep pretty firmly to themselves ...even when asked the question in Magazine articles.

Can't say I blame 'em ...the proof is in the results they get!

My JMM DEV 5 is simply awesome ...but now I want TURBO!
