How hard would it be to weld a NUT onto the side of the block. Do you need anything special.
I am looking to put a knock sensor on the block

dont weld any thing to it. look for a spare bolt hole some where or dril and tap a spare boss.

you'll only end up cracking the block if you weld to it

Thanks Tickford. I hope there is somewhere to drill and tap.

They put the knock sensor just below the head on cyl 5, I wonder if cyl 5 is significany or not.

Cheers

Why do you want to move it? Im sure it would pick it up if it was knocking in any of the cylinders.

I dont want to move it. I am fitting it to an EA block which does not have a mounting point for it

Probabily best to put it in the same mounting spot Ford has it on the later cars. Is the hole there on the early cars?
