just wondering if someone can help me, after gunning my ea falcon up a hill it now idles at about 1500rpm and takes about 30-45 secs to drop back to about 800revs also it keeps running a little bit after i shut it off, it seems like the timing adjusted it self or it's overheating. weird problem any help Appreciated. Cheers, Jack |

My old EA CFI did this after having it about 3 months. As common as it was, not a single mech could really tell me what it was.
My solution was I sold it to fund another car at the time. However, I think it came down to either a bad earth (possibly near the steering box I heard) or the ISC. I played with the ISC a fair bit, adjusting the kickdown point etc, to force it to idle lower, but even after that and reseting the ECU, the ECU overode it. It's a pain especially with the auto, as it want's to take off when the brakes are on. Check ISC connector for corrosion, maybe replace it. Think I was quoted $80 odd bucks.. That or the TPS on back of the throttle body, I removed and cleaned the sh!t outa both of these, but it still haunted me. Sorry can't help anymore.. |
