Maybe just bite the bullet and take it to an auto electrician..I mean, I do all my own stuff too and it bugs me to go to somebody else but this seems to be working out a bit pricey for you - it might just be less of a pain in the anus to get somebody to just put it right for you...just my 00.02c worth...
