Have you removed the airbag fuse recently? Removing and replacing the fuse will leave an error in the airbag system.
If this is the case you can reset it. see this doco

im guessing it flashes first before it stays on?

how many times does it flash
or what fault code does it flash?

(see airbag diagnostics section)

If the light stays on there is a fault in the system and a diagnosis should be performed ASAP.

Generally helps to know what car you've got, but why not check out the Diagnostics section and then maybe one of the two things on air bags? Such as: Airbag Diagnostics or Active Diagnostics - Airbags at http://fordmods.com/forums/doc_menu.php ... iagnostics.

I've had that problem too. 5 flashes then 2 flashes for a few times and then it stays on. I've just shorted the airbag diagnostics pin to ground pin and hoo-bloody-ray the light has gone out.

Here is a clear pic of the two pins you need to short out. 5 quick beeps will be heard when the error has cleared.

Short out the two pins indicated in the picture and the light will stay off unless the problem is still there in which case it needs to be sorted.

It works.

Just get a piece of wire and touch the two pins together at the same time with the wire. Hold it there until you hear 5 quick beeps. That should clear the fault.

I've tried the step above, but I don't get any beeping amd the airbag light stays on.

Anything I could be doing wrong?

Hey mate,

I was told a while back that if that light stays on, there is a fault with the airbag system somewhere along the line, whether it needs resetting or whatever. Which is a danger to you as the driver, if you happen to be in an accident (touch wood).

Id take it to my local ford dealer and see if they can help.
Because all model falcons new and old would have the same feature, and im sure they wont charge for the information that you need.

Good luck

Cranners
