Pods bring out the "Induction roar", whether it be on a 4, 6, 8, 12 cyl engine. Even the old triple SU's put out a roar, as well as triple Webers & Del'Orto's. Its a harmonics thing, and changes with camshaft profiles too.

it madde it sound heaps diffeent
i reckon the pod for noise but i think the air boxs gives more power because it is getting cooler air then what the pod was getting

I've used the pod in the air box and std panel filter with modified bellmouth and both returned improved fuel economy etc

use a pod in the box with a cai, or a panel with cai, panel > $70 ~ pod > $100 (K&N) both will last longer than your engine so why not go the pod ?

Heres my setup for a pod filter. The one fitted to my car is the first one I ever made, been there since 2000.

sound better but provide more room for improvement, the pod compliments the headers, exaust, cam, cai. all work together.

Personally, i think there is next to no difference with the pod/panel debate, unless the pod isnt in a box. Make a decision and stick with it, BTW I have a K&N Panel

That pod in box turn out thats is pictured in previous post,,,,It wouldn't assist much in airflow, because of the bottle neck straight after it, whats the point!!!
You'd be better off with a mandrel bent pipe down to the airbox.
