The time/effort/money some people spend seems disproportional to the gains.

So I'm bored and looking for something I can do to improve my car, however little the gain. Big deal.

I would have thought taking a 30mm restriction out of the intake system would make some kind of difference tho. People are always ranting about bottle necks in intakes after all.

i never said it would knock seconds off your et's either.

it was more boredom & NO money that brings me to these asthetical improvements.

i got most of mine set out today, spirit of the moment thing.

my mate got me some steel pipe from work to use as an adaptor.

ill post pics as soon as i get some charge in my camera batteries (cant upload to the computer unless i have batteries in it)

its a simple desing from pipe to pod but id like to keep it all in a box of some sort so if doesnt fit inside a stock box ill look at something a little bigger

i think i threw out my heat panel that i used to have ready to go in.... i wish i kept all my stuff. so much of it i need now.

im also thinking of a way to get cold air there quicker and more of it, possible a pipe down under the front bar

yer i'm a bower bird i keep everything. i should open a wreckers lol.
better off with a box than a shield. in my post cutom cai i finished it off with a 5inch pipe from the front bar to the box with nice smooth bends & still goes better with the lid off. but i accredit this to the cosworth vent creating a good cross flow. you can ram all the air in you can but without backup it's not worth anything, you just want it as cold as you can get it.

On H3AT's new car, there was an exposed pod filter. IMO i hated it because it would be sucking in hot air from the engine and damn it was warm. So we swapped it over to the stock intake with Tickford snorkel and it had a bit better response, mainly because the box had better airflow and cold air flow rather then the exposed pod with no cold air coming in. But little response is better then none, so I think he is keeping the panel filter.

I have a stock air box but have a K&N filter and that gave me a better response over the generic filter. Either set up should work fine so long as the pod or panel filter are enclosed and get some cold air fed to it.

phong =P~

it's the cold air. hot air inducted pods will actually decrease performance.
