I have a 1985 ZL Fairlane i was wondering if it is possible to remove the box filter with electronic emission control and put a pod filter on??? pls help.....

not unless you wanna run gas......

the 'electronic emission control" things you're referring to i'm guessing is the airflow meter with the blue lid....
remove the AFM and the engine simply wont run......

biggest question tho is WHY?????

i painted the top half of my airbox blue to match the blue AFM cover

shame the ZL hasnt been started since.... *crys*
