Hi,
Of the performance air filters, does any of them perform better than one another. For example grab a standard BA falcon 6. Chuck in a K&N Panel filter vs a AIR HOG Panel Air filter (supercheap auto) VS BMC air filter vs any other brand we can think off. Are they much the same or is one really better than another??

Each brand seems to claim they're the best flowing.
Personally I stick with K&N as they seem to be the biggest mob with the largest range. I've yet to come acros any decent non biased comparisons. |

Either one when they are brand new. K&N are well known and will give you a good result.
But on an ongoing basis, probably best to continue using paper filters. Over the life of one of these "cleanable" filters, you will get better peformance and service out of paper filters. |

HUH?? yeah, i ve stuck with K&N in the past.. Good filture quality too.. Because its been proven in the past (independantly as well) that any sort of cleanable filter will start getting clogged with dirt and stuff you can not clean out. So it will end up flowing less then a standrd paper filter. So, over the usable life span of these cleanable filters, I can purchase X number of paper filters and have a brand new clean filter everytime, flowing 100% of its capacity. And overall it will cost less then the one off purchase of a K&N. And on top of that, I don't have the worries of over oiling the filter and potentially clogging throttle plates, ISC's and MAF's. |

You shouldn't have to worry about the oil if you let the filter dry, i think people clean the filter then put it straight back into the car, Big no no

If they're sold only by Supercheap then I wouldn't be trusting them. Not when a K&N which is a well known reputable brand can be had for not a whole lot more. With that said, my motorbike mechanic recomends the air filters Supercrap sell for motorbikes (but then most motorbikes come standard with a peice of cruddy foam as there filter). |

just a quick note? If they last for 400,000km and you bought 10 of them, does that mean your ride has 4 million km on the clock? just joking..
