This is the general idea JonBays. So with air fuel ratios we could go 141 rwkws from 128 With a chip up to 150. So timing is worth another 10 rwkws ...right?

I'm curious as to how your going to increase the A/F ratio without a chip.
My EL makes 120rwkw with an A/F of anything down to 10.5. My car is getting some mods soon, including a uni chip that should bump up the power

I'm looking at going down this track soon, as mine is rich, like every other falcon out there.

thats what i've been told also - but doesn't the EEC(?) realise the pressures have been adjusted, and tune itself back to the stock settings? therefore defeating the purpose of the AFR?

OK, so in the following article, replace Mustang with Falcon, lol. And EEC-V/EEC-IV are the same for the purpose of this function. Its explained very well: http://www.mustangworks.com/articles/el ... ptive.html I guess its up to you to decide if the AFPR mod is for you or not....

awesome article martin - cheers
but then again... not so good news - so, in reality, its a temporary fix - it won't provide any long-lasting benefits, as the EEC will eventually 'fix' the FP to what it 'should' be... doh! so a chip is really the only way to go if i'm looking for a real, long-term fix to the A/F ratio issues yah?

Kinda... it will (in your case) increase the pulse width of the injectors to allow more fuel in, as EEC cannot control FP... Yeah, a chip is the long term solution.... or something along the lines of data mine's project, but i think this is a fair way off remapping fuel tables... either way, due to the mods on your car it will need to be dyno tuned specifically for your car... Unless you can think of a way to trick oxygen sensors as well as play with fuel pressure.. hehehe

Then why do so many people gain fair power with just fuel pressure regulators? So in reality we are better off with xr6 regulators because more pressure will result in a better spray pressure at the injector nozzle. With the ecu adjusting the pulse then it should come back to normal levels of fuel ratio. So the injectors should run for less times and last a bit longer.

I find it hard to believe that these cars can adjust that much.If they could do so you would think that they would not need a rich safety barrier.
