I was on the net the other day and came across a ef for sale that had a pod filter attached directly to the throttle body. It was the narrow style pod filter and it had a bonnet scoop above it. What I would like to know is, how well does this work and whether anybody else has done it.
cheers

heard of it done B$ but not a good idea. On the cheaper ones the paper of the filter gets sucked into the T/B. and on some of the good ones as well.

Biggest problem with those set ups is when it rains.... You will more than likely end up with water in your filter and therefore in your TB

no air box = alot more engine bay heat introduced into the intake crippling engine performance..
legalities with cutting a hole in the bonnet to make it fit.. and then would have to add a scoop... any mods to the framing underneath the sheet metal on the bonnet would be illegal.. less torque.. water/rain problems.. GRRR! |
