The air intake pipe on my el keeps getting blown up from the back fire of the gas system. The rubber part connects to the plastic bit that goes into the airbox and on the other side connects to a metal pipe. Anyone know where i can get a rubber bend where it wont break all time? Im thinking of those blue intercooler silicon bends. Can anyone think of something cheaper then that?

Spring airbox clips, stubby holder over a hole in the intake pipe, spring loaded pressure release in the airbox.... theres a few.
More importantly, find out why your system is backfiring.

it back fires once in a while or when the pedal is down when starting the car. My brother does that! But besides that it hardly backfires.

I'd get the spring clips on the airbox lid then.
Think you can get them from Ford, or if you can't, scrounge some up at a wrecker.
That should hopefully prevent it blowing the intake apart.

Yeah, because the airbox is held down tight at the moment, and where it is blowing up is the weakest point in the intake (can hold the least pressure).
If the airbox is held by spring clips, it becomes the weak link.

There is nothing holding down the airbox. It is just seating there.

Airbox lid.
You have no clips on your airbox lid?
Is it blowing the rubber join apart, or just off?
If it's just blowing it off, and you have no airbox lid clips, get beads welded around the end of the metal pipe, and good hose clamps (the bolt ones, not the worm drive ones) to hold on the bend.
