Which is stupid because the only difference between it and a standard one is the pretty little badge...

Why do people use EL piping its smaller.... Especially up to the airbox....
I ran the ef piping and the Airbox reducer removed and the EL flexi hose fed into it connected to a pod.

With what? You gain s**t power by doing intake mods like this... People mainly do it for the looks The most you can hope to gain out of a new intake with a high-flow filter is a little better throttle response and maybe 4 or 5 extra kw...

I ran the ef piping and the Airbox reducer removed and the EL flexi hose fed into it connected to a pod. I looked at your engine pic and i have done the exact same thing on my EL falcon. EF air intake then used the EL bend to go into the airbox for the pod. Works well. And the bloke that started this thread see if you can trade your EF intake to the wrecker for the EL one. They are normaly in high demand because of lpg setups splitting them. You will never know if you don't ask. I paid $40 for the entire EF intake and airbox complete with all pipes, rocker cover support bolt/thread, all clamps, bolts, airbox clips etc (it's good to have spares of these things).

Quote: is it better to go stainless if doing that intake mod or can you go mild steel if ya want pipe that whole way round to the throttle body.
mild steel will develope surface rust over time, stainless will stay shiney...

its all good goin stainless or mild steel.but it will become hot.and i thought the idea was to get cold air to the engine faster...just thinkin out loud...

yes it does get hot, but so does the plastic pipe, the engine bay temp is still the same around it, just that it takes a little longer to cool down once the engine is hot...
and when you think about it, have you ever tried to touch your inlet manifold? its attached to the head! so it gets very hot! hotter than you intake! do it and youll notice the difference, you will not go backwards in performance!
