Hey guys just thought i would get some varied opinions, some people have told me water to air is a waste of time and money on supercharged engines. The water gets hot when just street driving. Many have told me to air to air is the way to go for street driving, and they are good for track use to. Some information would be useful. Thanks, Adam.

what supercharger setup are you using?
and what boost are you running/planning on running. water to air is more consistant, takes longer to get heat soaked.

Planning on going a raptor SC kit, probably 11psi boost, not sure, just wanted some ideas on which intercooler to go with, im not looking at breaking horsepower numbers but still want to make a decent amount.

Air to airs are good for turbos. There's usually around 2-4psi lost through the core/pipework, which can be fairly easily 'turned back up' on turbos (eg. 11psi, down to 8psi through loss, turn boost back up to run 11psi through engine).
With superchargers, you need to swap pulleys to achieve higher boost. Problem is that with the basic centrifugals (like raptor), you get to a point with smaller pulleys where you're starting to overspeed the unit....bearings are working too hard, and they become unreliable (belts break, bearings fail). In this case water/air is better....less loss through intercooler/pipework means you don't need to spin the supercharger as hard to get the boost you want = more reliable. As EF and Dazzle mentioned, also more consistent air temps. Air/Air are great for track or while you're moving. Joe
