Would it be ok to get around with a KandN filter in my airbox with the lid off? if not what can go wrong?

You can, but i wouldnt as:
1) sucking hot air, actually loosing power
2) can pop filter off sucking unfiltered air, potenntially f**k your motor

It sounds better with the lid off cause you get a louder induction noise but not good for your car.

Isnt there also legalities with an open airbox if it was fitted closed from factory? Anyways as all others have said you loose the cold air induction.

Yea an exposed pod isnt legal. I dont see why its illegal but the again its the law.

no induction or or no airbox usualy mean trouble with the police... they've checked my car for a pod...(unboxed).. but to no avail... :lol:

A copper packing up an RBT zone in QLD said it to me once, "undue induction noise" .

Never seen anything in print about it though.
