Well Last weekend I pulled the Wade 1004 out and Put in the ALTED Performance Stage 1 cam.

The first thing that amazed me was the idle quality. This thing idles as well as a stocker. I switched off the ISC and adjusted the idle down to 500rpm (which is is low as an EA-ED tacho goes). Then I turned on the A/C and moved the steering wheel around it didn't stall. Simply amazing. Sipheren will attest to this.
The wade had troubles idling at 700-800 lol, and I could not switch off the ISC until it was well warmed up.

After driving it I wasn't real sure at first as to whether I had picked up any power or not. What I did seem to pick up though was a lot more bottom end and midrange torque. Punching it at low revs it'll pick up straight away.

I've now tested it against a few 'benchmarks' of mine, and it does record much better speeds. So I think the feeling that I had originally that I didn't really pick up much power was just an illusion, I think this cam just delivers it much more linearly.

Anyways, big thumbs up. It's a good product. VERY impressed at how well it behaves, and the fuel economy. I think it would make the perfect cam for an auto, or those who want some extra performance but don't want idle hassles.

Can't wait to see what other cams the guys at ALTED performance come up with.

Cheers,
Dave

It would've been good to get some back-to-back results on a dyno or better yet, down the 1/4 mile.

I just put my car up on axle stands....I'm pulling the gearbox out to get it recoed. Oh and I'm in Tamworth too now lol.

I'd rather go to the drags anyway, now that'd be some fun.

The best that we have seen out of a std XR6 with a CAM MOD ONLY being our stg one is a 14.9 second pass. this is a fairly big drop from std and I will not guarantee this performance increase however you will note a large increase from std. As Voxace said it will idle very well and come on power early. Thanks for the support Voxace.

Still running my ALTED cam in the XR6.. it goes from strength to strength, Now I know how to drive with this cam ie, where all the power is. its gets quicker and quicker and more rewarding each time I drive it. I run to and from Parramatta to Waterloo for work 5 days a week, peek traffic all the way (yeah it sucks) I get about 500 to 520 kay out of a tank in this traffic, that includes cracking it open every now and then.
I often see high rev's and the back end breaks loose with little effort, but is very drivable, I have cracked 14.9 on the ¼ as well, I will get some track times soon I hope, but an indication to date is, Pre cam eastern creek was running 2.05 laps with the cam I am now running 1.57 laps! there is more in it too.

I run a 15.0 at 93mph, with extractors and exhaust only on my Manaul EL XR6

In dc_todd's signature he say's he has Pacemaker PH 4480 extractors and a 2 1/2" redback exhaust. Even with this exhaust and the Alted stage 1 cam, 14.9 down the quarter is a pretty good result. For $1200 to $1400 for exhaust and cam I would consider this to be a good horse power investment.
Sorry was looking at Voxace's signature. 14.9 is even better if it's with a stock exhaust.
