sometimes when taking off at the lights my ba xr6 makes a loud thud. I have no idea what it is, sounds like something might be loose maybe. Any ideas, Sounds like its right under the drivers seat as sometimes i can feel it.

Diff bushes. Might wanna get them checked out. Could be getting the thud through the driveline.

typical b series noise, the fairmont does it as well.

turn off the traction control and take it for a drive and see if it stops the noise or limits the amount of times the thud happens, if it does help diff back lash needs adjusting and needs a service

cheers bear

Go and get the diff bushes checked out. The B series have 3 bushes. Usually the centre one goes but you change all of them when you do them because its a pretty big job to do.

+1 haha, thats what I was thinking too when I read the title.

My ute has clunked from factory, but I think they only employ deaf people at the dealers these days. I know my problem is diff backlash.
Unsure of pricing on the diff bush's though sorry.
