Hey everybody. I picked up my new car, a 2004 BA futura with around 38600 kms. I'm pretty happy with it overall. Only problem with buying at auction is that you can't test drive :x Anyway, the car has a really annoying whine sound when the car is above 45 km/hr. No vibrations or anything, just an intrusive whine that shouldnt be there. Other than that the car is perfect. Any ideas what the cause might be?

Start by checking the levels. Make sure there is enough oil, power steering fluid, trans fluid, diff fluid.

Could be the type of tires, or just lack of air.

Hmm maybe you have a supercharger hidden under the bonnet somewhere? Could be the problem?

going from recent experience with friends and their BAs, it could possibly be a wheel bearing.
does the sound change if you turn sharply left or right ?

To me it sounds like now it might be the wheel bearing. I think its coming from the front left, but my old man reckons its coming from the rear. I dont know what he's on about  It does change sound when turning, moreso when turning to the right I think.
Just got a bit concerned id picked up one with a bad diff or something like that, judging from the problems some people have had with drivelines.
Thanks for the help guys!
