Hey guys i was wondering if anybody could shed some light as to what might be causing a whine / squeal sound in when in first (auto). This noise stops once it changes into second.....
Is this fixable? Could a worn belt becausing this rather than the transmission??? Im no mech. Cheers Scott |

Internally it could be the pump, if the Auto is not the cause then externally I would be looking at a clogged or blocked oil cooler, or damaged lines to or from it. Another cause could be the cooler lines are touching the body of the transmission or the car body.

Oil Change time will make it a little quieter. The whine itself is the planetary gears I think which could mean bearings, or that youve just managed to finally wear your gears out a little.
Mine only recently started whining as well - mind you 340000km of being driven like it was manual... |

Ok a few things to check out......although i have recently changed trans fluid (to a synthetic)......i also drive mine like a manual (i know not the best but meh)......also i have a chaser ecu meaning it revs right out when pushed hard of the mark maybe this has decreased lifespan as i only have 136000 on the clock........
what are your thoughts of this?? thanks heaps |
