Hey guy's I just recently got another EF fairmont, to replace the gli, which we've had for the last 12 odd years, so am well aware of the severe fetish for leads, plugs and coil packs they have.
Anyway the new one started missing, checked all the leads for spark, changed all the plugs. So I'm hoping that crosses out spark, I tried to check the injectors today, and found cylinder 2 has nothing coming from the injectors plug, the injector is good but the plug isn't passing anything onto the injector. I was a bit buggered by that stage but only check the first 2, but was already under the impression it was cylinder 2. Anyway wondering any thoughts that could be causing it, maybe a sensor or something? Anyway thanks in advance.

yeah the misfire in mine has resurfaced, just when i think ive fixed it, it shows its ugly fuking head.
Cant remember how many sensors ive rewired, changed different plugs, leads, coil pack, ecu, map sensor, tps, coolant temp, crank angle sensor. Only one i havnt changed is the air temp sensor |

hahaha, well, it's just I retired the previous ef, for many problems, including the severe miss for the last 6 months, just be nice to have a full month of good fuel economy and a nice ride.
Anyway been working on it again today, ran the diagnosis, got a pass when doing it engine off, and 411( irregular idle) when i did the engine on test. I've chased the wire from the ecu to no 2 injector, to test the wire continuity, to no avail. I'm thinking the ecu could be faulty, as it's not finding any codes, but yet it's shut down atleast 1 injector. Might just change it over, guess another trip down the wreckers. edit: petrol only.

let us know if it keeps running well... if it doesnt then the ecu is learning from a defective O2
