My question is,how many people are running the BBM conversion on there 4L EB to ED falcons??Also would like to know from peoples experiences with the conversion,is it a worthwhile conversion??Also anyone running a aggressive camshaft with this conversion?
Am pondering on the idea of the conversion on my ED with future plans of forced induction...

Cheers Bryan

Did it to mine :) a bit of fun. Opens the valves at 7 psi, rather than at 3500rpm like on the stock setup.

nice setup there flash, any advantages in the 7pound flickover? most ppl take the butterflies out or run a log manifold

Thanks :)
I just wanted to try something different. Sure gives you a kick in the pants when you get switch over, max torque & then max hp all at one time :)

No good for rear tyres though.

I also like how i can drive around off boost (or with just a little) with the butterflies closed so she will just cruise around and pull like a train with good torque.

One day when i get time i would like to throw the log back on just to see the difference. I set this up when i boosted the engine so never drove it boosted with the log.

Very nice setup there ash...I'm liken that lol.

The main reason why i asking is that i was considering a V8 conversion into my ED falcon,i worked out roughly what it will cost me to do the full conversion (mind you only the stock 165kw engine) i came to a budget of $2500...And we all know how well the standard V8 efi windsor goes, nnot that great.
So now im going to keep the 4L/auto combo.I dont have a such a great deal of cash to fork out for a full turbo kit,but i can do all the work my self and overtime buying piece by piece i will get it done. But for the meantime i want to get it ready for the turbo or even may go a vortech system.I have seen lots of people on hear have good results from the turbo conversion, plus some have come well in there budgets. Also supercharging i will need to fabricate brackets and so forth, which all adds up and also the nagging fact of throughing the charger belt off.
So if i do the BBM conversion is it a worth while mod seeing how i want to turbo it???Or better stay with the log manifold?
My aim is to turbo the ED 4L engine for now/future.Then later drop in a EL/with log style manifold or even a AU motor with/log manifold.I'm purposley building this to suit everyday driving/towing/and power of somewhere between 200rwkw to 300rwkw.Also looking for reliability.I'm not going full house rebuild on the engines (i can buy second hand low km E series and A series motors at very good prices  .

So would like to hear from others of there opinions on attacking this.

Cheers Bryan

Also forgot to mention i want to run a log style exhaust manifold, just to try to keep costs down. Also want to run an aggressive camshaft aswell.I know my ED engine has some km's on it (273,000)But is still in very good running order. My ED is a 7/94 model it has the EF block/head motor from factory 94AB head.Dont know if it makes any difference, probably not.My auto will be up to the task been well maintained. Also with the camshaft selection this maybe done after the turbo install will also buy a suitable stall convertor to suit.

Also another question, can you get by with running the standard ED ECU,also buy retarding the timing???

Cheers Bryan
