If it is a V8 or metal pulley just use a suitable sized pulley remover, if it is plastic, you can try the same but no guarentees of the outcome, in each case use some WD40 or CRC Lubricant on the shaft.
Putting it on by tapping it with a wooden block between the hammer and pulley centre or plastic head mallet. Other people may have alternatives, I was told the "removal tool" costs $200.00 and the Refitting tool around $100.00 or so.

Yeah the removal tool is around the high $100"s, there shouldn't be any re-fitting tool. Its basically just using a bolt with the right thread and tightening the pulley back on, when i did mine, then just undo the bolt and the pulley will still stay on.

I haven't got a pic of the tool.
Thats probably your best bet... ask around and see if someone locally will let you borrow theirs. If you're good mates with a local mechanic, they might let you borrow theirs. Mine did, but i re-imbursed him with some Jimmie cans. As he says, after a few years for the mechanics they pay for themselves, and if he gets a slab of beer out if lending it to people he trusts will bring it back, then he's wrapt. |

Some places may be able to remove it for you, the going rate was $30 to $50. try auto trans places or steering/suspension specialists.

as above, check your harmonic balancer, when they start to fail they usually throw the power steering belt first, and if the shaft in the power steering pump was that worn it would be flinging oil everywhere....

This is the tool that removes and refits the pulley for power steering pumps, and water pumps.
I think I paid about $60 for it, new....about 10 years ago.
