aight, so dad's got a brand new bf markII xr6t and after about 1000 k's, it's dying in the a***. what happens is you'll be idleing, then it'll start to get a little rough and lumpy and eventually stall. its a bit rough to start up again but once it's going the idle is still s**t and if you try to give it a rev, the revs seem to drop even lower. if you can actually drive it just kinda pulses forward randomly.
any ideas? i would assume maybe an electronic problem. its definitely a pain in the a*** and will take it to the dealer during the week but in the mean time does anyone have any ideas? it works fine if you give it a rest but it inevitably starts to s**t itself after driving for maybe half an hour to an hour. cheers guys!

ignition probs as Disco said. could be a damage lead, arc jumping from the lead to the engine block or sparkplugs stuffed.
or worst, blown head gasket.

It's got 1000k's on it. Take it back to the dealer and tell them to fix it or you'll come around with a jerry can and a match.

So does my GT-P, what's your point. The majority of cars on this forum (X, E, and A series) however would not.

it sounds like an electronic throttle fault resulting in rpm limiting... take it back to the dealer...
i've seen BA/BF's with higher kays (like 45kish) do similar things because of carbon build up behind the valves, but with 1000km on it its not likely to be the case |
