Ive had troubles before with my aux shaft.
I think the person that owned it before me redlined the car alot and didnt treat it very well in general. So i've cleaned everything up and replaced most parts. Mid-2009 the aux shaft gear went for the first time. Got towed, got it fixed at a mechanic. I dont know what part he put in it but it is acting EXACTLY the same as it did last time the gear sheered, so im busy pulling it down to replace it. Thats why i was being so fussy about the gears and shafts between the different units. Cheers Sam

Yep, picked up one from a place in seven hills. Not genuine, but thats why im going to spend more time checking the allignment and the rest.
Is it worth replacing the oil pump gear as well or is this not an option? Cheers Sam

the oil pump is driven off the dizzy shaft, so the dizzy gear is the gear that drives the oil pump..

Do you see any issues with replacing the whole distributor and aux shaft with gear and it wearing in properly Troy?

STOP PRESS!!!!!
I have just learnt today, that Bosch ARE FINALLY DOING A RUN OF E-SERIES DISTRIBUTORS!!!! YAY!!!! They are being assembled by a local third party ignition place in Vic, very soon, and believe me, those blokes know what they're doing!!! Bosch is apparently supplying them with all the raw parts, including the empty alloy casings. This is apparently the last run Bosch will be doing, for the FD00002 MPI distributors. |

Not sure exactly, but I'm getting some super low resistance leads made up by them, for my XH, and XG.
I'll ask em when I pick the leads up. (Got the impression it was VERY soon though.) |
