My car still works.. as does everyone elses.
It only covers 4 of them from memory, theres still enough flow from the other water jacket openings.

Far out, how gay!
What about the ACL metal gaskets, they got the right holes for EA-EL? |

are the existing AU2 water jackets sealed with something? if not, it may be possible to just carefully drill the relevant areas out
hmm..... i should've hit the submit button before i went out instead of straight after returning.....

Everyone else does wont blocking water jackets cause some serious damage? can anyone confirm this? they are blocked of for a reason. it promotes water flow to the back of the engine..(the hottest part) to help keep the engine a uniform temp. it's a very common thing to see in gaskets. you'll find that the AU block and heads have the same water jacket as the ef. a possibly reason might be to try and fix the problems witht he pre AU engine blowing gaskest. they seem to mostly blow at the rear of the engine. ford may have done this to help cool that part of the engine better |

This is from the ACL website:
http://www.acl.com.au/web/acl00056.nsf/ ... enDocument Q4. Is it okay for some waterway galleries to be missing in the new head gasket? Answer It is not uncommon for engine manufacturers, as well as gasket manufacturers to change the position of waterways in the head gasket. Most waterway differences on the cylinder head gasket are generally around the front of the engine. The waterways at the front of the cylinder head gasket are often restricted or removed to reduce coolant circulation at the front of the engine. This increases coolant flow at the rear of the engine (which is generally hotter than the front) and enhances the cooling efficiency of the engine. Some examples of cylinder head gaskets with restricted or blocked waterway are as follows: Make Model Cylinder Head Gasket Reference Number Nissan Pulsar E13, E15 BK440MT/EZ Ford Escort 1.3, 1.6L AH750MT/EZ Toyota Landcruiser 2F, 3F BC260MT/EZ Ford Falcon EA, EB, ED, EF BR520MT/EZ |

problem sorted, a standard ef gasket from ford has thoes 2 water jackets blocked as well. so obviously this must have been a problem with the older ef headgaskets.
thanks guys
