the au starts up idles for about 30-40 secs then stalls
i can drive the car within that but after that it will stall while driving then have to turn off then start up again what do yous think this could be i have no idea what it could be the fact that it drives then stall and i can start it again and drive like nothing happen got me stumped |

Need more info....
Petrol or gas/both? Drives...normal, low power? Happens when it is cold/hot? All the time? How many k's on it? Has the fuel pump ever been changed, assuming it is petrol? Try swapping around the fuel pump relay and the eecv relays with other compatible ones. Could be the crank angle sensor. Could be the fuel pump. Could be the coilpack, less likely though. Could be a bad connection somewhere. Try wriggling the wiring loom and see if that does anything. Cheers Mick |

ok petrol drives normal untill it decides to stop. has power when use it all the time unsure lol its a rebuild its a brand new bosch 044 i could post a video if that would help |

Ok so has this problem started since installing the new fuel pump? Why was the fuel pump replaced?
The other thing that it could be is the crank angle sensor, though these normally fail when they warm up, then need to be cooled back down before the engine will restart. So after it stalls, if you immediately restart it starts and runs again? Have you tried resetting the pcm by disconnecting the battery? How long since the engine was rebuilt? Is there a loose earth or power wire somewhere? Cheers Mick |

the au block has been put into my XD
XDs dont have a electric fuel pump it cant be the pump because i have run a line from the battery to the pump and ran it for a while no problem no matter what i do with the tuning (even stock) this always happens i cant make it go away i have disabled/ set start up table 0 so there should not be any increase/decrease AFR when i am driving for the short window of time, it runs well if i give it stick it will put out or if i drive normally same thing driving driving driving then all of a sudden no throttle response (unless clutch in) engine still running but wont drive, turn engine off while rolling clutch in turn back on and works again for only short amount of time same thing |

What pcm have you used?
Have you got the correct bcm and key to suite? Though considering it starts and runs I don't think it is a smart shield problem. Have you checked the map sensor? should be around 4v without the engine running and about 1.6~ with it running at idle. Its almost like it happens when the controller transitions from open to closed loop. It is really hard to tell what the problem could be considering it is an au inside an xd.... Have you scanned it for fault codes? Might be worth a try, easier than taking a stab in the dark . Cheers Mick |

I have an idea!
Try going through the sensors 1 at a time, disconnect, run the car, if it still stalls, re-connect. Start with the oxy sensor, then the map sensor, tps, coolant sensor. Is the temp sensor working/connected? Has this problem only started since installing this package into your xd, or did it work for a while after you installed it? Do you know if the engine/conroller was working fine before you got it? Cheers Mick |

woke up this morning feeling like i have been drawn and quartered could hardly get out of bed ill let you know how i go tomorrow, i got a j3 chip and that gets rid of the smart shield dont have a BEM / diagnostics connector lol checking individual sensors sounds good |

hey man tryed all the sensors they all seem to work
check this http://s870.photobucket.com/user/figgie ... 2.mp4.html if you watch this you will hear it chug as coming up to round about and i cant continue driving no throttle responce so i turn it off and turn it back on straight away and can take off no problems so i have no idea whats going on |

Hmmmm, its just weird!
If the engine will still continue to idle when this happens it can't be the crank angle sensor or the cam sensor. Check that the 12v supply to the injectors is staying at 12v and not dropping, same with the coilpack. Also test the sensor supply voltage make sure it stays around 5v, the tps is the easiest spot to check this. Also check the oxygen sensor output voltage while the engine is running before and after the fault occurs, just with the engine idling and then on the road. Make sure you use the sensor ground and not battery ground when doing these tests. The BA manual has some pretty good sections that explain what voltages you should be getting. Other than that do you have another ecu to try? Cheers Mick |

Also, Im not familiar with fuel injected falcons, what do they use to regulate rail pressure? Is the rail pressure remaining constant before and after the fault occurs? Cheers Mick |

typically the fuel rail on the falcon are actuator
but ive put 42lbs injectors and custom rail and Adjustable fuel reg, yes the fuel rail stays constant untill 1-2 seconds after |
