the mrs. car a AU 6cyl futura.
problem: after warming up, the car seems to miss-fire / struggle get get into the revs and jerk a bit. feels like running out of fuel. after a little while and it quickly getting worse it will just stall. then upon restart it will free rev out to redline fine?. so plenty of fuel? and gradually get worse till stall again. which gets worse and worse till it wont run. so far ive changed the fuel pump, filter, a couple injectors, the coil pack and leads and nothing has stopped the issue comming up. any more ideas would be appreciated. my thought at the moment is maybe i was lucky enough to get a equally shot coil pack? as its when it warm up that it happens. and seems like a electrical issue as upon restart its back to revving.?

Have you checked for fault Codes?
With what you are saying about the miss after it warms up, I would say Coilpack as well. Was the Coilpack new or used? What series AU is it? |

no dont have a fault code scanner.
is a au series2. and it was a second hand coil pack.

and where is it? and is S1 same as S2 sensor?

Benny D wrote: would crank sensor die like this? and where is it? and is S1 same as S2 sensor? crank sensor is a magnetic pick up (similar to hall sensor in dizzy) its just above harmonic balancer, even oil or dirt build up on the wheel can cause a miss.. and the crank sensor is the same ef,au1 and au2.. its not a common thing to fail but being an electrical componant its possible... but i would say more than likely its the coil pack... |

hm. ok im also still leanin towards coil problem.

Last one I purchased off Bursons Penrith cost me around $150 so that price aint bad for VDO if you can wait till it shows. Better off going new and eliminating that instead of going another second hand and maybe getting another f**k one. |

I got a coil at Bursons myself, paid $72.00. But that one you added the link to Raven is a goody.
 Benny, while you are at it, check your leads, the Catalytic Converter and take the HEGO sensor out and clean it. BA/BF utes do what you are talking about and it is 95% of the time Cat. |

Now it has new plugs, all changed injectors and put the old coil pack in.
The spark is strong so can't be coil... It seems like when warm it is starved of fuel. Last nite took it for a spin and it done the usual. Then I pulled off the val line to the fuel pressure reg and took it for another drive and it behaved exactly the same both times. Would this indicate the reg is stuffed as there was no effect both plugged and unplugged?

Last straw was when I called them up to find the closing time for that day and they told me 4pm. I did the 30 minute drive down there, got there at 2.30pm to find a sign on the door saying they had closed at 2pm due to a public holiday coming up. That and waiting at the counter for 30 minutes while they all chat to each other behind the counter and the excessive prices they have given me. I gave them a chance, now I go to Scotts Auto Penrith. I steamed them both and cleaned them out thoroughly then, I changed the Fuel Filter on both and it sure DID make a difference. Might also pay you to blow out the lines and take a good look at the Regulator, it may have s**t jammed in it. My Series I XR6 I changed the Fuel regulator and put a standard one in, didn't make it drive worse or starve it for fuel. |

replaced fuel reg. still happening....
so far. all that comes to mind is either both coil packs are identically fuked.. or its a computer issue?

i say its has to be coil pack.. That done to EB dies runs then dies replace coil start and she lives for other day..
