Can you tell me if i can fit a eb head onto a au botom end?? Is it a direct bolt on or does it require any modifications? thanks!

As I understand it.. yes.. heck people use AU headgaskets in EA-EL's anyway..
why would you want to though? the AU head would flow better, probably has bigger valves and higher compression. |

yes it will fit
but the eb head wont have the fitting for the temp sensor in the rear of the head..like au..(depends what car you have the engine in?) also the au head has got larger valves and conical valve springs with a different rocker ratio and cam but has slightly smaller ports. so be carefull not to mix up the cams and rocker gear or you will destroy the valves.. it would be best i think to use the cam and rocker gear from what ever head you use..eg if you use a eb head use eb to ef cam and rockers.. |

has anyone put an earlier e series head on an au bottom end? if running with an ed computer and using the log mani is there any need for the temp sensor? will it run fine if just cut out of the loom?

You can just use the ED Temp Sensors in that config, and it will work fine.
The comment about temp sensors was if you were using an E Series head in an AU. If you use the AU Thermostat cover you wouldnt have anywhere to screw in a temp sensor. Nigel |

the eb head flows better on a bench, JMM did a test on this.
But the AU head is better to mod, as it is better designed.
