I have just put the AU motor into my ED and went to transport today but couldnt rember where the engine number is? looked near the No.1 cyl on exhaust side of block but couldnt see it (thats where the ED block had the engine number) anyone know where it is? i cant seem to see it anywhere also would it be on the VIN tag of the donor car aswell?

It is at the back on the lower part of the block...it wont be easy to read as it is dot matrix stamping, not like EF and earlier. Engine blocks weren't painted either so the rust makes it hard to see too.
