Hey all.. im in a bit of trouble with this new car i bought :( the bloody air con when turned on is making a weird winding noise in the engine bay the a/c gets a bit cold if left on for a min, (i dont wana leave it on to long while its making that noise) could this mean it needs a regas ??

Oh and when i put the climate control to 31 degrees and run the engine for like 10-20 mins the air stays normal outside temp. I do have the a/c button off (cuz its making that noise) while trying to use the heater that shouldnt matter right ? Pretty sure u shouldnt need the a/c running to use the heater?

Plz help i cant take it anywhere cuz i still gota get a rwc yet :(

Sounds like the AC Pump internals are stuffed.

You should still be able to use Demist/Heat etc with the AC turned off. Just takes longer to demist but :D .

Sounds to me that your AC Compressor bearing is shot hence the horrible noise.
Would suggest changing the compressor. As for the heater I would be checking the heater tap down by your starter motor, make sure it is not seized, blocked or leaking and also make sure the vacuum hose is connected to it.

Follow the heater hoses from the firewall.

It is located under the BBM towards the rear of the block.

pop bonnet ... look down beside intake [back of engine bay] for coolant hoses. there should be one attached down there somewhere. follow coolant hoses from heater on firewall ... little left of aircon lines [on firewall] item looks like whats in link below
