Where is the MAP sensor? In the manifold? MAF sensor? There is a sensor below the throttle body you can clean it by removing the throttle body and you can see it sticking out inside the manifold (hard to remove sensor has security keys on early models) I cleaned this a few times before i decided to change my fuel reg. Now it just stays clean cause my car is no longer a petrol tanker, best fuel economy mod ever done ! 320 to a tank now high 500s,and its still not tuned.

Lol just realised it was an AU, thought it was an EL going the OP's username i.e elrob
EL's have the map sensor mounted up near the firewall but on AU's i believe the map sensor is under the throttlebody, so Autofast2, id say that would be the sensor right there |

Yeah but my scan tool calls it a MAF sensor weird. You could always unplug it and see what happens if its still crap then BINGO you found it,or not.

Coil packs on AU are a problem also they like to blow inlet gaskets. But it sounds like a coil pack problem.
