Slotted rotors is an upgrade.

Twin pots on the rear on an NA 4.0 is pretty much a waste of time.

Unless you are got to spend a small fortune on the Engine/Drivetrain you will never produce enough power to need twinpots on the rear. BA/BF XR6 Turbos only have singlepots on the rear. even with the 303mm discs.

Again XR6 Turbos only come standard with twinpots up front and 298mm discs (AU II/III are 287mm).

Same applies with the power you will make concerning the front brakes. Upgrade to BA/BF larger discs and twin pot calipers is you really want to.

Ok I'll just leave the stock calipers and just put some dba slotted rotors in and some good quality performance pads with ba discs on the back and quality performance pads and it should stop pretty good I want to lower it what would be the best height but also get the best handling and performance out of it to really put the power to the ground

Read my post at the bottom of the first page. Quoted below.

hi all i have a 2001 au falcon forte its bog stock was wondering what the best and cheapest mods would be to get it to go really good cheap and good engine, suspension mods mainly

What exactly are you wanting?

Better performance (engine etc) or better handling or a combination of both?

Intake just make a 3" intake same route as factory airbox but use a pod on the end. No kw gain but better response

Don't use a Pod filter, they are a waste of time. Get the intake pipework from a Territory and the airbox from an F6 with the additional intake pipe and fit a quality filter. Good quality panel filters flow better than Pod filters anyway.

ok cheers what sort of suspension package would give the best bang for my buck?? looking at a budget build here

First thing would be to check all your bushes and suspension rubbers as well as the condition of the struts and shocks. Worn bushes and rubbers as well as worn shocks will effect the handling considerably.

As for springs, consider how low or high you want the ride to be. Take into consideration your driveway and the condition of the roads you travel on. As for wheels, 17" with 45 profile tyres will give a better ride than 18" with 40 profile of 19" with 35 profile. Lower the profile the greater the risk of rim damage on bad roads.

Got a nc fairlane lsd to go in thats like 3.27 gear ratio yea? what would be the best to get the best accelration and top speed out of it?

Are you wanting to fit the complete diff or just the centre? You can't bolt the complete NC diff into the AU.

What condition is the LSD in the NC Diff. 3.45:1 would be a better ratio than the 3.27:1. Yours would probably be a 3.08:1 single spinner. 3.45:1 or greater will give you better acceleration but lower your top speed. 3.08:1 lowers your takeoff but will give you better topend. All fairly minimal top speed difference anyway.

Do you have a 4 speed BTR or T5 manual?

will the lsd centre from the nc duff fit into the factory au diff? would it just be a matter of taking the centre out and putting in the lsd centre?

How did you check your bushes and rubbers?

There is a big difference between comfortable ride with decent handling and using the car for track days.

What are the roads in your area like? Do you tow a trailer etc? What slope is your driveway? Do you carry a lot of passengers?

Not a job to be done at home unless you have the experience. Diff needs to be set up properly, shimmed etc.

Better to take it to a specialist.
