I've got an automatic AU III SR that I've had for about nine months now. I picked it up and i had about a 7 hour drive home and it was fine until I got about half way. Whenever i went to accelerate hard to overtake the revs dropped right off and the car lurched. I was meaning to get it checked out but It didn't happen again so I totally forgot about it but the other day as I stopped then accelerated whilst turning the revs dropped right off again and it started lurching, it only picked up the revs again when i eased my foot right off.
Over the past few days it's gotten worse and it even stalled whilst cornering yesterday. It's completely fine on the highway now, I have no problems with overtaking, it only happens when i corner now. I've taken it to a mechanic but he's not too sure about it, so yeah any thoughts/ideas will be helpful. Cheers, Pete. |

could be a few things:
1: Fuel pump/pickup could be faulty 2: fuel pump/pickup housing in tank could be warped out of shape so its not holding fuel when cornering( problem will happen more often and worse when tank is now) 3: powerstearing pump could be f**k and the list goes on |
