changed the reg and its still reading crazily high...
ive put a new pump in....its an EF pump but that shouldn't make a difference... I may have put the hoses on the pump back to front so the question is : on an AU does it go... pump->rail->reg->return or pump->reg->rail->return... ive got the black clipped which goes to the rail connected to the fuel pump line

also i noticed that when i disconnected the return line the fuel just dribbles out....im thinking the reg or rail may have a blockage....is this common? dont feel like spending $100 to find out that wasnt the problem

vaccuum line to reg disconnected or split? might be worth disconnecting the rail and blowing it out with compressed air (with goggles and after most the fuel has evapourated). also blow an air gun down the return line you should hear it blowing hard in the tank if you got the fuel cap off.
with the engine idling if you clamp of the return line do your revvs jump up?

i have the return line disconnected and draining (dribbling) into a bucket so a blocked line isnt the prob...

theres a little spring loaded ball bearing on top of the pump. have heard they can clog up with goo.
Its a pressure relief for the pump unit
