I assume you mean put an AU head on an ED block? yeah straight swap over, you gonna run the au cam and rocker gear as well I assume? otherwise if you want to run an e series cam you will also need e series rocker gear to retain the correct ratio, but if its the complete au head ie head cam and rocker gear, then yes straight bolt on.

The AU head will fit on the ED BLOCK if it's a complete head as dc_todd mentioned...
BUT, AU head will not fit ED SUMP as you stated in the thread heading... I am sure you meant BLOCK right? phong =P~

yes they are just being pedantic...
your complete head assembly will bolt to the block...although im not sure what u compression ratio will end up being (i think it migh be a bit lower - ie not as good)

damn they all beat me to it..
as long as you have the block in between then yes the head will be quasi conected to the sump...

Ahh, in that case the answer is as above. A complete AU head will fit onto the ED block.

AU head fits ED block but I would be carefull as to what gasket you use.i.e the standard gasket or the AU metal gasket.
You have to check the piston to head clearance as by my calculations you will get anywhere from 20 to 30 thou clearance using the AU gasket. 30 thou may be OK but 20 wont. Alot of guys have used the AU gasket and I am yet to see/hear a problem of piston contact tho, but by my calcs its really really close. The AU gasket is 25thou. Most engine buiders aim for around 35thou clearance.
