Will using the EF injectors adversely affect the performance of the engine? and can I substitute them with EF Tickford jobbies?

they have a different spray pattern, instead of 1 single exit point for fuel they have 4. AU ecu has management for this but EF wont. It would possibly run ok but it would idle like s**t and possibly flood.

This is what I have been told, but might be worth checking

I run AU's in mine without problem (when I am not on LPG) The AU has a better pattern but the rates are similar enough that it should be no problem for the EF ECU to deal with.

same here!
im using the au injectors with a el ecu..

who ever told you au injectors are no good because it will flood the engine, have no idea what they are talking about!
the spray pattern helps atomise fuel better..

Hi. I'm in a very slow and painful process of putting an AU XR6 HP motor into my EF, aswell as a T5 and I have some questions.
Firstly- I want to keep the stock ECU (albeit with resistor mod) so should I just hook up the EF manifold (with AU injectors) to the AU motor?
Secondly, using the reistor mod will I experience any of the following:
- higher idle rpm
-dull response compared to manual ECU
- any anomalies compared to manual ECU
Finally, what do I do about the serpentine/accesories will the Au engine take the EF belt/set of acc's?
Thanks.
You will need the AU bellhousing if you wan't an exact fit assuming the T5 did not come with the motor. If it did then you will need to modify the tailshaft and cut the trans tunnel.
You will need to use the EF Upper or modify the AU one to refit your IAT and MAP connection. Next you will need the AU Alternator or custom up some new brackets. You will also need to modify (shorten) the AC compressor spacers and lastly you will need to change the plugs on the knock sensor and coil pack and retrofit the CAM angle sensor.

Whats involved in shortening AC compressor spacers- AU motor has alternator on it ; and do u mean retrofit the EF cam angle sensor, and use an AU coil pack?
Based on what I've read, Im chancing with the following setup:
EF manifold w/ AU injectors and EF pump.
K&N, Advance headers, hi flow cat, deleted muffler ( existing system- will this get through the pits?)
EB bellhousing, tailshaft and pedal box, resistor mod
Main purpose of this thread is so i dont negelect anything. Cheers and i love the responses so far.

You will need to remove around 6mm from the four compressor spacers to allow for the different alternator mounting. You will notice the Cam angle sensor on the AU is on the timing cover. The EF has a sensor on the oil pump drive shaft where the dissy is. You need to remove the AU dummy shaft and install the EF sensor assy. There may be some clearance grinding to do on the sensor depending on the AU block model as the mounting bolt hole may not be the same. Coil pack, you can stick with the EF or if you have an AU II or III motor they have different plugs on the coil pack for both the LT side and the HT side.

ACIDIC -> who is modifying your sump, and how much did it cost?

Im looking at the same (AU -> EF) here.

Nigel

I'm getting my engine from Qld, already modded. i may also get the XR6 version, extra $250 but worth it i think.

Minor Hi-jack over here. Would AU injectors work as they should on a EF? Is the superior spray pattern still effective when used in conjuction with the stocko EF computer?
