When aircon is ON - this whiney noise like coming from engine and like sounds like it's vibrating the bonnet hard to describe but it comes and goes ONLY while aircon is ON. The aircon on the other hand works as normal but just not sure what this is. How to diagnose and solve pls help.

i would have a listen to the bearings inside the AC pump, possible failure there. have replaced a few of those in my travels.

previous owner said it's the aircon solenoid or something - has frog-like sounds and that it works just that it's noisy but it is annoying so anyone knows how to change or where this is and I'll get it replaced thanks much

ok i saw a new after market one on ebay for $199 so maybe I'll get that and take it to the aircon shop - will update ya

you're right - i thought that too - not to get the part(s) but just get it checked - sometimes the noise sounds like a frog under the dash but it's annoying - I'll get it checked cheers

Get an air con place to check the in line filter on your compressor line (has a different name, but can't remember it now). It's a $2 part and if that isnt it, won't cost much anyways...
They are often the best way to diagnose a dead compressor (like people above have been saying it could be), the filter will block from shards of your compressor impeller... Causing the compressor the cease and make a whining noise when the air con is on.
