my au 6's temperature rises when i give it a boot,
and ends up losing coolant could this be a buggered water pump?

doubt its the pump as that would insight that the impalla wasnt spinning. pressure cap may have gone to s**t? you sort of need to know were its going before you can really know the diagnosies

definately try an replacement pressure cap.
had a similar experience and that was the cause. also get your radiator flushed/tested for bloackages or corrosion, as the AU units are made from aluminium and are quite prone to failure after time. If it requires replacement spend the few extra dollars (around 40 when i did mine) and get a brass core radiator.
