After reading the engine retro fit it states that the rocker arms are longer in the AU compared to a EF. 2:1 and 1:8.
A few questions. 1. Can I fit the AU rockers into the EF XR6? 2. How much extra lift will this create? 3. Is this a straight swap? and 4. Do aftermarket cams take into consideration the different ratios? |

Longer arms increase lift, not reduce.

yea thats right.. but holdens go from 1.65:1 to 1.9:1 ..
your asking if you can use 1.8:1 instead of 2.0:1.. which means your going backwards.... in the the case of fitting 2.0:1 rockers on a 1.8:1 cam it will create to much lift and bend the valves,break rocker arms.. |

My mistake. I thought the AU rocker arms were the longer of the two hence why I asked. My bad.
Just out of interest if, I was to put EF rockers into a AU, would the extra lift bind the springs or the valve kiss the pistons? |

has been covered a few times before, but some ppl ive spoken to swear that they've seen some sort of hybrid concoction of interchangable parts that works

i have seen au heads with ef cams using ef rockers and ef heads using au cams and au rockers..
but those that i know of that have mixed and matched au cams with ef rockers have ended in disaster... |

i think there was someone recently who put a combo on and bent the valves. cant remember who or what combo tho
