Hey guys, i had a problem with my Au a few days ago and was wondering a few things.

My thermostat f**k up and the cars temp jumped to half and the thermo fans were going nuts, so ichanged the thermostat and the problem is fixed, but when my thermostat went and the temp rose to half the gearbox started acting really funny going into torque lockup very early and dropping the revs low after i replaced the thermostat it stopped and went back to normal. i was wondering why?

And also i disconnected my battery aswell to fix the wires going into it and when i reconnected the battery and started the car it started idling rough.

Any help is much appretiated

If it got hot, then the gearbox may have overheated and gone into limp mode. It's normal for the car to run rough for a little while after you disconnect the battery, as the computer has been reset, it has to RE LEARN again before it will run properley, if your gearbox only started playing up after you disconnected the battery, it could be for the same reason.
