Hi guys,
I was driving through the mountains today and needed to give the car a boofull up a hill to overtake a slow truck. After I passed the truck, my trip meter/odometer came up with all these weird numbers and symbols. The odometer read "555555", "s" symbol started flashing and my trip meter reset. This beeping sound occured every now and then too. I pulled over, turned off the car completely, then turned it back on again and the 555 etc and "s" symbol was still showing. Realising that the car was driving as normal, i drove on. The odometer showing "555555" starting rising as normal as i drove more kilometers (rising from 555555. So 555556, 555557 etc etc) I would take some photos but my camera battery is dead. I havent done anything out of the ordinary to the car since i replaced the fuel pump (about a month ago) and I changed the oil yesterday. Thats about it. What do you guys think ?? Car still drives fine, no issues at all. Is it a code or somethng for an error ?? Thanks Josh |

Hi guys,
Bit of an update on my situation... Disconnected the battery (both pos and neg) to see if the code would go away. No luck. 555 etc thousand k's still on the clock. Called up Ford and the mechanic was useless. Proberly wanted some money out of me before he helped me at all. Does the ecu send the amount of k's the car has done to the dash or does the dash log the k's in some way ?? Im thinking it may be an ECU problem ?? Regards, Josh |

its the cluster that logs and keeps the kms in memory, maybe there is a fault in the cluster?
