Yeah thanks Guys - had read a few have changed them.
I'd assume if the signals were that different a fault code would come up.

Hey chaps is there any difference between an EF/L bottom end and an AU? Would it be easiest of all to just put an AU head onto the E series block?

AU bottom end is stronger than an EF/EL one.
EF head would be the better choice. AU bottom end had longer rods, shorter pistons skirts. The main caps are also stronger, and the Sump acts like a 4 bolt mains and also has a girdle. Au engine rev's smoother and apparently handles boost better. But theres nothing wrong with the E Series bottom ends, they're all pretty bulletproof.

Oil Pickup is in the way. ok, taking your idea of modifing the sump, will the oil pick up still be in the way? or can i modify the sump to fit? or, can i have an oil pick up made for it? |

You can't modify the sump as the oil pickup is in the front. You need to modify the K-Frame, therfore incurring engineering.
