im putting a built AU motor into my El fairmont can anybody tell me if im using haltech ecu and using crank and cam sensor can i use au A/C compressor and just get A/C hoses changed to fit the pump as only thing i can see why i would need to put E series A/C compreesor is to allow for distributor

Why not just cut down the Mounting spacers for the EL.

Cut them down to 30mm and also shorten the bolts by 10mm.

Std AU belt will fit.

how did u get the sump so clean? I use degreaser and it didn't do much also with a high pressure washer.

can any one comfirm that a au knock sensor will work on and an EL saves me drilling out and retapping a new thread in the block?

in regards to the au knock sensor I wanna use it instead of using the el one how did you guys connect it up cause the pins of au one are small than the el one ive look at the wiring diagram to find which wire is positive and negative and it doesn't show it in the book it only shows what the wiring colours are like bk-w and y-r. ive pull the plug apart on the EL wiring loom to see if I could swap the plugs over to suit the au knock sensor and then came to a halt.

The black or black/white is signal ground. The other wire which is eithe red/yellow or straight yellow is signal positive..

and for the au knock sensor in the book it shows y-r and y-r but I look the wiring it has one straight yellow and one yellow/red it doesn't mention which is what?

can anyone tell me tell if the au belt tensioner is the same as the EL belt tensioner? also if im using a au block do need to use an au belt or can I just use my previous EL belt?
