Don't suppose anyone knows someone able to do this mod in Brisbane? (Just the sump) Iv called around some fabricators today but $350 feels a little steep to me. Seems to be an issue with many of them that its alloy not steel.

Hi guys,

anyone know of a welder in Melbourne (east) that will do this modification?

Have had a few knock it back and I have a motor waiting at a mechanics workshop to go into my EL.

The sump is in my possession. I was told by both wrecker and mechanic that this could be done easily but the issue seems to be that it is an alloy.

Any help would be muchly appreciated!!

Just take it to engineering place or welder shouldn't be a problem.

I'll give you a tip.. Because i feel for anyone who has to hunt someone who can do this for them. Iv been there not very long ago at all. So many of you say you got it done for 150$ or less.. The best i could get was $300 and that was after being laughed at and hung up on many times.

Top Tip: Email them the entire thread w/photos and let them see for themselves. I used this one:

viewtopic.php?f=1&t=79648

In my experience most of these guys were terrified of the prospect of doing such a job.. it sounded big and complicated etc.. Then when they saw that thread there was much more co-operation. Even if some still did hang up on me.

Also.. clean your sump as best you can.. They will appreciate that very much.
