thats correct, the el gt and the au III i believe are the same size (im a lil drunk, so corrent me if im wrong)

how ever the au III has tickford wings on it... so for same price, get tickford wings

how ever with the au one, you have to cut off two of the corners...., make your own screw holes, but it still fits in with the bonnet rubber

The snorkel for each model is very carefully matched to the shape of the body and bonnet. Fitting the wrong one for your body style messes up the relationship. JMM will put you on the right track as to which one to use .

read this a number of times i think you will get what he is talking about........

look mate,

if he had fitted an au T3 snorkel to the airbox you would have won this debate. He fitted a El GT snorkel to an EF falcon. I rest my case.

It dosen't matter if he fits a rampod or panel filter it shows you that jim mock fits EL gt snorkels to EF&El falcons and au T3 snorkels to standard au falcons.

cheers...

The EL GT one looks completely stock, don't have to drill two new holes in your car................

I must say in regards to this debate. The AU3 snorkel was a tight fit to get in to the actual airbox but lined up with the original holes with also a bit of heave ho to my EL. But the EL GT one seems to have a smaller diameter hose length and longer overal length, so probably would of fit that much better to the Airbox and everything. So are the mouth sizes the same though?

Was JMM going on about it's fitting being wrong and breaking the snorkel or about the airflow into the snorkel?

because how i read it he means because of the different shape of the AU and EF/EL body you don't get the right air flow although the EL GT and AUIII snorkels look pretty much the same.

But if he meant fitting them well i don't have any experience with it but the AUIII fits but do you have to put the plastic under more stress to get it to the right spot than the EL GT snorkel?

the way i read it your both going on about different things but that could be just me

i may have been a tad drunk during the debate :D
but the auIII snorkle sits in the same position as the old snorkle, so i believe it would get same result..
(i believe?)
