Hi all, strange one for you...
I sold my AU1 Forte wagon and now have an AU2 Futura wagon. I have a mate whos driveway is a nightmare to reverse out of without risking scratching the car - its narrow with bricks each side, going uphill, so I usually drive in, drive on his grass and reverse back onto the driveway so I'm pointing in the right direction to drive out. However, it seems odd to me but I used to be able to reverse back from the grass in one foul swoop in the old wagon, but this one I need to '3 point turn' if you like, to do it (theres a fence on the other side of the driveway which I would hit otherwise). Other than this, the steering all seems ok. The only thing is the old one you might say was 'sloppier' having done 150,000 k's more. Is this normal for there to be such a difference in turning circle? I haven't really noticed a difference in drive. Thanks. |

they changed from 15s to 16s for au2 didn't they?

the front end is different from AUI to AUII...
AUII is more like the BA front end.. the suspension was updated abit and they move the radius rods.. don't know if that makes any difference but the front was changed so maybe the turning circle was affect

Not sure about AUI versus AUII, but if the tie rod ends aren't centered you can lose turning circle in one direction. Need to get a wheel aligner to fix.
