NZEA wrote: Yeah I was hoping to pick one up for around that or less down the track too. I still have all standard EA looms in my car with BBM and EL ecu, just used a smartlock bypass..about $130 i think? Also have thermos now too. As long as you've got the EL pinout, and EB pinout, you'll be fine. Just a couple of wires differ, the rest you add in like output for thermos, bbm switching, knock sensor etc. Other than that you just splice the different TPS and ISC plugs into the existing engine bay loom. Oh and if you've got a seperate trans computer you chuck that out and take all the neccessary wires from that over to the EL ecu, huge improvement. I can help if that's the case...piece of piss LOL ben thats all possible but personally for me its too hard , So when I do my ED ill get the whole wiring loom ECT. theres a EL at the local wreckers with full cappa interior , I want to see if I can get it for a good price. Im not a big fan of EL-EF interior so I think i might go with NZEA so is this what i have to do ( I Am looking for the Easyest and most effective way :
Mod K frame Use RMP switches for the BBM and VCT Put a dizzy in where the cam angle sensor sits wire everything into the original looms? also It will have my T5 on it what bell housing should i use? At the end i will write up a summary of what needs to be done. Can I run an EF loom with the EB dash? |

i would use the rpm switch for the vct only..
and use the el ecu to switch the bbm.. as the timing maps are different in el as they are suited to the bbm.. if you keep the eb ecu it will ping when the manifold runners are on the short runners and by the time you retard the timing to stop the pinging the car will be a dog.. and its easier to just use your eb loom and just modify the eb manifold loom to suit the bbm.. also just so you know the ef loom is different to el and el is different to eb..but the el ecu will plug straight in the eb loom and ef wont.. |

+1 for what troyman said, most the info I got for doing anything I've done now has been from his threads.
Your bellhousing can be used, XR-Lane (a few comments above) has just done it and walks through what needs to be done on his build thread.

It has a higher pressure fuel rail and better injectors. But you will need to change the wiring loom over on the BBM to suit the EL setup so it will plug into the loom. |

Actually, the AU BBM is different to the EL one. You will need to swap it to the EL BBM.
The function of the sensors are different, and the wiring won't fit. BenJ

Thats funny, Phantom used the AU BBM when he had a AU HP XR6 engine before he put the BA engine in.
Someone is lying for sure, unless the EL sensors fit on the AU BBM. In any case I will be swapping my AU fuel rail and injectors over into my lane when I get a chance. To gain some small amount of power. Josh |

nope the e series sensors dont fit into the au manifold..
it may be possable?? but i couldnt get the engine to idle with the au t map manifold.. neither could linesix when he did his au vct into eb conversion.. maybe phantom used an au or aftermaket ecu ?? |

Ok so I need to use an EL intake manifold
El intake with AU fuel rail and injectors. Does the AU have serp belts already or do i have to get them of an EF?? |
