i dont know the torque for the oil line bolt. i just did it firm tight...
the vct solinoid can be hooked up to the bbm vac solinoid or i had mine connected to a j car rpm switch set to switch at 3000rpm.. but i would check with joe to see if the cam is set for the vct to operate or its been dialed to be static. ive actually disconected my vct unit and im now running a non vct cam instead.. |

The entire point of the exercise was to have the cam running with the VCT, he's left it that way, just done a grind on the cam for the supercharged application. I guess I need to try and find some sort of plug to plug onto it then too. |

So the solenoid needs 12v to move it at 3000rpm? |

So the solenoid needs 12v to move it at 3000rpm? the solinoid has constant 12v with ignition on and the rpm switch should be set to cut power at 3000rpm.. |

Where is the solenoid? its the thing on the front of the head that takes an injector type plug. Attachment: what it does it has 12v with ignition on and it opens the oil way and allows oil pressure to rotate the cam gear to give you low rpm torque. and when the power is cut to the solinoid it cuts the oil pressure and the spring tension in the vct unit will rotate the cam for high rpm.. |

Sorry, I meant where is the BBM solenoid? As in location wise.
Do you know which pin is which on the VCT solenoid? |

Do you know which pin is which on the VCT solenoid? the bbm solinoid is behind the washer bottle on the pasenger inner guard. and the bbm solinoid works on the same principal as the vct.(12v constant and the ecu cuts earth at 3800rpm releasing vacuum) um.. the top pin on the vct unit is the 12v and the bottom one is the earth/trigger. |

So I run a constant 12v to the top pin and connect the bottom pin to the earth ecu cut on the BBM solenoid then. |

if you just want to use the bbm signal to trigger the vct?
you hook the top pin to constant ignition 12v and the bottom can be hooked up to the green wire from the bbm solinoid or the bbm pin on the ecu(same wire).. im not sure how much load is drawn through the vct so it might be best to use a relay and just let the ecu trigger the relay instead of the ecu carrying the load?. i hope that makes sence?? |

the VCT has 12v constant to it. And the ECU earths it out. Works above 3200rpm. Pin 32 on the ECU is the VCT earth

It does, ta. I might just go with the RPM switch instead, I was reading your build thread about how you were saying it takes a while for the cam to move over, so you found 3,000rpm to be better suited. |
