Hi All, I just pulled out my VCT from a fairlane to fix the sump oil leak. Anyway, I also decided to put through a timing kit.

However, I try line up the marks and get as far as:
crank key pointing to auxilliary sprocket mark
Cam sprocket mark pointing up with dot pointing right of head.

I know this is not how it is meant to be, however by looking at the cam lobes on No1, they are both pointing down.

Is it possible someone has turned the cam sprocket prior to previous installation?

Does anyone have any other info regarding the timeing setup?

Thanks

Hi all,

As I have received zero replies, I was forced to find out the info another way. Anyway I have and have attached a diagram of how to setup the timing in AU engines. Note that this is different to the E-Series.

Thanks.

Fiox,
Well done mate, should be a very useful contribution to the info base.
Cheers,
